Up and Running was created to get newcomers, Up and Running, with their new computer purchases be that hardware or software. Arranging classes for those businesses too small to have their own computer staff at their own location with their own software.

By request, more and more people were asking for help with accounts packages and advice on their systems and the way forward for them. Now much of my time is spent computerising accounts for small businesses and acting as a consultant for their IT (Information Technology) needs. The size of the businesses range from a turnover of hundreds of pounds to one recently of over £2m.

I have also assisted a number of companies by setting up templates and standard formats to enable them to streamline their organisation and assisted others in their preparation and implementation of a computer security and use policy.

I am available to assist most companies in training, advice, presentations, planning and policymaking. I am also still available to assist those needing help setting up their hardware and software and really enjoy this aspect of the work.

Web site design and maintenance came quite by accident. I am a very keen Flat Green Bowler and created a site for the Hertfordshire Bowling Association. I was then approached to create web sites for other local bowls clubs and found there was a real need for someone with the necessary expertise to assist small clubs achieve a web presence for minimal costs, this was achieved through Bowls-Clubs UK and now there are 20 and more on the way. Then came Doric Dance Centre

I have carried out training for both large and small organisations with all windows based packages, setting up templates, and merge documents to help streamline their operations. Designing and implementing Protocols and Procedures. Creating hand and instruction books. Assisting companies in the development of their IT (Information Technology) systems and procedures and their training policies and programmes.
